as a world-class city with world-class art and culture. for more information, visit >> okay, good morning. thank you all for coming out today. we're very happy to be here. my name is ed rifkin, i'm the other ed, director of transportation. and as the transportation director, i oversee the sfmta which is the agency that is charged with implementing the city's transit first policy. and what our goal, what the city's goal and the transit first policy is is to make sure that everybody can get around san francisco, that everyone can get to where they need to go. it is an important part of making the economy of san francisco work, to making the quality of life good and better. but it's not just get around san francisco any old way. this is san francisco, and we have values that we bring to our transportation system. we want people to get around in a way that steps lightly on the environment. we want people to get around in ways that are enjoyable. and that really contribute to what makes san francisco special, such as our wonderful cable cars. but above all, we want to make sure that people can
city of san francisco mayor ed lee. >> audience: let's go giants! let's go giants. >> let's go giants. wow how thrilled we're are to have the world series champions back in san francisco. what a year it has been. it's been the year of the orange dragon. yeah! . orange october. but you know we have celebrated, we have screamed, we have shouted all year long and once again the giants have captured our imagination and team work and they did the hard work. often we look at sports and we have super stars and we have super stars but there is a motto on the clubhouse wall and it says "25 guys, one common goal, win today". [cheers and applause] and they certainly live up to this motto. when i see young people, all of the city supporting giants gear it's about the impact of this team. it is hard work, perseverance and hard work and work with each other. did bruce bochy and these 25 guys quick when they lost the first two games against cincinnati? no. did they accept the inevitable with st. louis? no. they carried on with determination and experts and pundits predicted that this sa
across much of the state today. highs will be from the mid to upper 40s. baltimore at 47. ocean city 49. the mountains will be much colder. we will have a few clouds. and this means great news for the ravens. they're back home today. 4:25. giants are in town. we'll have partly cloudy skies. sun does set at the start of the game. low 40s to start off. then dropping into the 40s throughout the game. interesting things happen as we head towards christmas eve. a storm comes in from our south. colder air. not just a rain event. notice that pink shading and blue and white starting to show up. that's a mix of snow that will be happening throughout the day monday. we're not expecting much snow accumulation but a few areas may be a little bit just in time for christmas. also into northern virginia. these places may have just a little bit of snow on the ground by christmas day new york tis how we won't have that in baltimore or anywhere across the eastern shore. just something to hope for if you are planning to travel west. watch out for those slippery roads around christmas eve and christmas day
